Ingredients

• 300 ml (½ pint) double cream
• 300 ml (½ pint) milk
• 100 g (4 oz) caster sugar
• 2 egg yolks
• For the cherries
• 2 tsp cornflour
• 125 ml (4 fl oz) water
• 1 orange, juice of (reserve the zest to garnish)
• 150 ml (¼ pint) cherry brandy
• 450 g (1 lb) cherries, stalked, halved and stoned
• ½ tsp Cinnamon Ground
• 1 Vanilla Pod
