Kittencal's Mexi Ground Beef Tortilla Stack Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
• 4 garlic cloves, finely minced (garlic lovers can use more)
• 1 medium (8 ounce) yellow onion, chopped
• 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped, optional
• 1 package (1.25 ounce) taco seasoning mix
• 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt, or to taste
• 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper,or to taste
• 1 jar (7 ounce) salsa (semi drained, mild medium or spicy)
• 3 flour tortillas (8-inch size, can use corn tortillas if desired)
• 1 1/2 cups sour cream (divided, reduced fat is okay)
• 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese shredded (divided -- or use a Mexi-blend cheese)
• 8 ounces diced green chilies (two 4 ounce cans)
• 2 whole (12 ounces) tomatoes, chopped
• 3 large green onions, chopped
