Ingredients

• 1 cup crisco, melted and cooled
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup canola oil
• 2 tablespoon vanilla
• 1 egg
• 1 egg yolk
• 2 cups sweet wine (Marsala, sweet sherry, or red vermouth)
• 8 cups flour
• 2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground allspice
• About 2 cups honey, warm
• About 4 to 6 cups of vegetable or canola oil for deep-frying the cookies
