Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon kosher salt
• 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon MSG (optional)
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 to 3 pounds eye of round, beef roast, rump roast, bottom round or chuck roast
• 3 cups cabbage, shredded (about half a head)
• 1/2 cup mayonnaise
• 3 cloves of garlic, minced or pressed
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• pinch of MSG (optional)
• 1 sub roll
• roast beef (from above)
• white cheddar, provolone or Swiss cheese, sliced
• tomato, sliced
• garlic slaw (from above)
