Skillet Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

• 16 tbsp unsalted butter, roughly chopped
• 5 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced 1/2 inch thick
• 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
• 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 cups all purpose unbleached flour
• 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 2/3 cup whole milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup of ice cold heavy cream, optional
