The Tuna Casserole is Not For Wimps | TASTE

Ingredients

• 2 tbsp butter
• ½ c finely diced button or cremini mushrooms
• 2 tbsp minced shallots (or mild onion)
• 3 tbsp flour
• 1 ¼ c milk (whole is best)
• pinch of dried thyme
• salt and pepper
• 8 oz (half a bag) wide egg noodles
• 10 oz (2 cans) solid white albacore, drained (I prefer water-packed)
• 1 c frozen peas
• ½ c grated cheddar cheese
• ½ c dried bread crumbs, panko, or French fried onions
