- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 slices thick cut bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup finely chopped white or yellow onion
- 1 TB unsalted butter
- 3/4 tsp. coarse salt
- 1 tsp. chopped savory (Bohnenkraut) or chopped fresh thyme (I used fresh basil)
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
