detroit style in n out pizza
If you're an In-N-Out fan, you're gonna be a fan of this. I make it in a 10x14 Detroit style pan (available here).
Ingredients
- Olive oil
- One ball pizza dough, recipe here or any one pound ball
- 2 large yellow onions, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3/4 pound ground beef
- Kosher salt & coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1/2 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 large dill pickle, diced
- 1/2 pound American cheese, shredded
- 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- Oil pan(s) generously, including up the sides
- Remove dough from fridge 2 hours before using, add to the pan and gently stretch out, don't try to get to the edges yet - set aside for 30 minutes
- Put a tablespoon of oil and the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat, and add the onions - cook 15-20 minutes, stirring often until caramelized then remove to a bowl
- Don't wipe out the pan, but put in another tablespoon of oil and the ground beef - cook until no longer pink - remove and set aside
- Make the sauce - combine the mayo, ketchup, sriracha, mustard, and diced pickled in a bowl, mix well and set aside
- Preheat oven to 500
- Bake 15-20 minutes until done (or less if a thinner version)
- Remove, and top with the lettuce and tomato
- Happy eating
