Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean meat, 20% fat)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce leaves
  • sliced tomatoes
  • sliced red onions
  • sliced pickles
  • condiments of your choice (garlic aioli, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.)
  • cheese slices, optional
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the diameter of the hamburger buns as they will shrink during cooking.
  • While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet until they are golden brown.
  • Assemble your burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty. Top with sliced tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and any other desired condiments.
  • Place the top half of the bun over the toppings and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious homemade burgers!
