  • 3 to 4 - cucumbers cut into spears
  • 2 cup(s) water
  • 1 cup(s) white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon(s) onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon(s) dill seed or sprig or two of dill if fresh
  • 3 tablespoon(s) salt (i used pickling salt but regular salt will work)
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) alum found in spice section of store (optional, and note caution),
