• 1 package colby jack or cheddar cheese , 1/2 inch, cubed
• 3/4 cup sour cream
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1 cup milk
• 2 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp garlic powder , optional
• 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
• 1 cup cheddar cheese , shredded
• fresh parsley or green onion , for garnish
