Ingredients

• 6 oz (175 g) soft butter, plus extra for greasing
• 7 oz (200 g) caster sugar
• 2 oz (50 g) self-raising flour, sifted
• 4 oz (100 g) ground almonds
• 3 large eggs (size 1–2)
• 3 medium-size oranges
• ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml spoon) salt
• 4 tablespoons (4 x 15 ml spoon) orange jelly marmalade or crab-apple jelly
• 2 teaspoons (2 x 5 ml spoon) water
