• -280g/ 1 1/4 cups pitted dates roughly chopped
• -1 tsp baking soda / bi carb soda
• -1 cup / 250 ml boiling water
• -40 g / 1/4 cup brown sugar
• -80 g / 6 tbsp unsalted butter
• -2 eggs, at room temperature
• -1 1/4 cups / 185 g plain flour (all purpose)
• -1 1/2 tsp baking powder
