- 1 beaten egg for brushing
- 250 g (9 oz) lamb’s kidney or beef sausages
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons beef dripping or oil
- 1 tablespoon plain flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
- Water
- 2 bay leaves
- 200 g (7 oz) puff pastry
- 250 g (9 oz) mushrooms or use a pie funnel or small cup
