- 1/2 c. sugar

- 1 /2 c. vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 ripe pears, peeled and chopped
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped (optional)
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. walnuts, chopped*
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
