Honey Cake French Toast – The Wandering Chew

Ingredients

• 4 medium apples, peeled and cut into 1 inch slices
• ¼ cup unsalted butter
• ⅛ cup maple syrup
• ½ Aunt Cici’s Honey Cake (or any other honey cake you have), cut into 8 1-inch slices
• 1 cup plain yogourt
• 4 eggs
• ¼ tsp kosher salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp cardamom
• ½ tsp ginger
• ¼ tsp nutmeg
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 4 Tbs unsalted butter
