Wor Wonton Soup | Recipe Binder
Healthy soup that is a little time consuming to make but well worth it.
Ingredients
- 6 dried black mushrooms
- 1/4 lb. lean ground pork
- 1/4 lb. uncooked fresh medium sized shrimp, shelled, de-veined, and coarsely chopped (or thawed frozen shrimp if that is all you have)
- 2 green onions, minced (1 for the wontons and 1 for the soup)
- 1 T light soy sauce
- 1 T dry sherry or Chinese rice wine (much more authentic with rice wine)
- 1 t sesame oil
- 2 t cornstarch
- 1/8 t ground white pepper (black pepper will work also if you don’t have white)
- 20 wonton wrappers
- 2 qt. low fat and low sodium chicken broth
- 6 baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 1 c. fresh snow peas uncooked, ends and strings removed
- 1/2 lb. lean Chinese barbecued pork (or ham), thinly sliced
- 6 medium shrimp, peeled and de-veined
- A pinch of ground white pepper
- 1/2 t sesame oil
- t= teaspoon T=tablespoon
