Cherry-Chocolate Strudel Recipe – Sunset Magazine

Ingredients

• 1/3 cup vanilla cookie crumbs
• 1 cup Bing or other dark, sweet cherries, rinsed and pitted (or use frozen pitted cherries)
• 1/3 cup dried sweet cherries
• 1/3 cup slivered almonds
• 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 tablespoon kirsch (optional)
• 6 sheets filo dough (about 12 by 18 in.)
• 1/4 cup (1/8 lb.) butter or margarine, melted
• Powdered sugar (optional)
