  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed and peeled
  • ¼ pound (120 g) bacon, cut into ¼-inch (.5-cm) dice

  • ¾ pound (360 g) kale, stemmed and leaves cut across into 1-inch (2.5-cm) strips
