Ingredients

• 1 pound rigatoni
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 yellow onion, minced
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1/2 tsp kosher salt
• 1 tsp red pepper chili flakes
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 1 (6oz) can of tomato paste
• 1/2 cup vodka
• 1 cup of heavy cream
• 1 cup pasta water (reserved from the pasta cooking water*)
• 1/4 cup parmesan cheese or pecorino cheese, plus more for serving
• fresh basil, for topping
