Bread Machine Vanocka - Red Star® Yeast
Our version of Vanocka is a three-strand braid topped with a twist. Make dough in a bread machine, then shape, rise and bake.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups bread flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon Red Star Active Dry Yeast
- 2 teaspoon lemon rind (grated)
- 1/3 cup golden raisins
- 1/3 cup candied fruit (chopped)
- 1/3 cup almonds (chopped)
- Egg wash: 1 egg plus 1 tablespoon water (whisked together)
- 2 tablespoons almonds, blanched, whole
