• 3 lbs of potatoes, peeled and cubed
• 1 onion
• 5 cloves of garlic, minced
• 5 tbsp olive oil
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 pint (473 ml) heavy whipping cream
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter
• 2 tbsp corn starch
• 1/2 tsp salt
• pepper to taste
