• 3/4 lbs lean ground beef
• 3/4 lbs ground pork
• 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
• 2 teaspoons onion powder
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 large egg
• 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan or pecorino
• 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
• 1/4 cup milk
• Polenta, to serve (optional)
• 1 jar or 3 cups marinara sauce (homemade or store bought)
