2009 Best of Show Apple Pie Recipe – Santa Clara County Farm Bureau

Ingredients

• Crust (for a 10” pie): 3 cups flour
• 1 tsp. salt
• Cut in 1-1/4 cups of Crisco shortening
• 1 egg
• 4 Tbsp. water
• 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
• Filling: 8-10 JONAGOLD apples, peeled and sliced
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• Scant 1/3 cup flour
• 4 tbsp. brown sugar
• Small amount of milk
• Dash of sugar
