Spaghetti with Lemon and Olive Sauce

Ingredients

• zest of 1 lemon
• 1/3 cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice
• 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
• 3 large cloves garlic, smashed
• 1/2 cup sharply flavored pitted black olives, such as Kalamata or Nicoise
• 1 1/2 tsp dried thyme (or 2 Tbsp chopped fresh)
• 1 tsp salt
• freshly grated pepper
• 1 lb thin spaghetti or capellini
