A simple and hearty soup. Use a good brand of polish sausage or kielbasa for this. A lot of flavor comes from the sausage itself.

- 3 3 Kiolbassa brand smoked sausages
- 1 cup white or yellow onion
- 1 cup carrot
- 1 cup celery
- 2 cups red potatoes
- 48 fluid ounces cannellini or great northern beans
- 1 tablespoon butter
- cold water to cover
