Ingredients

• 3 1/2 cups (875 mL) flour
• 4 tsp (20 mL) ground ginger
• 2 tsp (10 mL) cinnamon
• 3/4 tsp (4 mL) baking soda
• 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
• 1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground cloves
• 3/4 cup (175 mL) GAY LEA - Unsalted Butter
• 2/3 cup (150 mL) dark brown sugar, packed
• 1 egg
• 2/3 cup (150 mL) molasses, fancy
• 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla
• 2 egg whites
• 2 cups (500 mL) icing sugar, sifted
• pinchsalt, fine
• food colouring, optional
