Ingredients

  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g dark muscovado sugar
  • 100 g black treacle (or molasses)
  • 100 g golden syrup (or honey)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice (or all spice)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 275 ml milk
  • 3 stem ginger (blitzed)
  • 2 Tbsp stem ginger syrup
