- 1/2 cup minced shallot
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 fresh red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 5 cups cooked penne pasta (about 8 ounces uncooked)
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
