The Hairy Bikers' spicy bean hotpot recipe

Ingredients

• 2 Sweet potatoes (about 450g)
• 2 Medium cougettes
• 2 tbsp Sunflower oil
• 2 Medium onions, halved and sliced
• 2 Garlic cloves, crushed
• 1 tsp Hot chilli powder
• 1 tsp Ground cumin
• 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
• 400 g Can chopped tomatoes
• 2 tbsp Tomato purée
• 2 Bay leaves
• 400 g Can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
• 400 g Can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 tbsp Cornflour, mixed to a paste with 1 tbsp cold water
• 1 pinch Flaked sea salt
• 1 pinch Freshly ground black pepper
• 600 g Potatoes (preferably Maris Piper)
• 50 g Butter, melted
