Cooking tools:

  • Skillet
  • Stove
  • Spatula
  • Chef's knife
  • Cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring spoon
  • Peeler
  • Serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sirloin (any ground beef works, but sirloin has great steak flavor with minimal grease)
  • 1 English hothouse cucumber (any cucumber works, but I prefer hothouse)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (chopped (or grape tomatoes, quartered))
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 head romaine or Bibb lettuce (washed and dried)
  • 4-8 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
  • 8 tablespoons fish sauce (found in ethnic sections or Asian grocers)
  • 2-4 Thai chili peppers (or serrano peppers as substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon Thai crushed pepper (regular red pepper flakes work too, with slightly different flavor)
