• 1 box chocolate cake mix, batter mixed according to package instructions
• 1 box vanilla cake mix, batter mixed according to package instructions
• Chocolate Cream-Cheese Frosting
• One 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
• One 1-pound box confectioners’ sugar, sifted
• 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
