• 4 green cardamom pods ((use seeds and discard pods))
• juice from half a lemon
• Cake
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 3/4 cup cane or white sugar
• 4 eggs (large)
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• zest from one lemon
• 1 cup fine corn flour or fine corn meal
• 2 cups ground almonds ((almond flour))
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1/3 cup slivered almonds
