• 1 cup (250 mL) unbleached flour
• 1 tsp (5 mL) baking powder
• 1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) baking soda
• 1 tsp (5 mL) fennel seeds coarsely crushed
• Pinch of salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/4 cups (325 mL) buttermilk
• 3/4 cup (180 mL) butter melted
