Tomatoes in Tonnato – Duke's Mayo
Tonnato is an Italian condiment often used to dress salads, roasted vegetables or spread on sandwiches. But we thinking it's the perfect topping for juicy, ripe tomatoes.
Ingredients
- 1 can tuna, drained
- 4 anchovies
- 1 clove garlic
- ½ cup Duke’s mayo
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2-3 heirloom tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon capers
- Fresh herbs, like chives and basil, to garnish
- 1 pinch flaky salt, such as Maldon or J.Q. Dickinson
