• Large eggs, divided
• 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) Butter
• 1 bunch Scallions, thinly sliced, white and green parts separated
• 1 1/2 cups Bell peppers, finely chopped
• 3 cups Cornmeal
• 2 1/4 cups Flour
• 1 tbsp Baking powder
• 1 tbsp Salt
• 1/8 tsp Ground black pepper
• 1 cup Corn kernels
• 1/4 cup Sugar
• 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
• 1 3/4 cups Buttermilk
