• 2 teaspoons (organic) Penzey’s double-strength Vanilla extract
• 1/4 c organic buttermilk OR 2 free-range eggs
• 4 cups organic all-purpose flour (sift well before measuring accurately)
• 2 tablespoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt (rather than 1 teaspoon since the butter was salted)
