This cake is perfect for autumn, when there are cobnuts or hazelnuts to be picked.
Ingredients
- Butter (for the tin)
- 6 large eggs
- 300 g caster sugar
- 250 g plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 12 tbsp calvados or cognac
- 5 tart eating apples (500-600 g total weight)
- 600 ml double cream
- 200 g hazelnuts (preferably fresh)
- 30 g icing sugar
- 50 g hazelnuts (finely chopped)
