Mama's Chicken Cheese Soup - Paula Deen

Ingredients

• 1 box large elbow macaroni
• 3 stalks celery, chopped into small pieces
• 1 small white onion, chopped
• 1 stick Butter
• 2-3 cups chopped, cooked chicken (or canned chicken)
• salt, to taste
• Black pepper , to taste
• garlic powder, to taste
• 5 cups chicken broth
• 1 large box Velveeta cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
• heavy cream, optional
