Ingredients

• 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
• 6 tablespoons butter-flavored vegetable shortening
• 1 cup sugar, divided
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
• ¾ teaspoon baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon baking soda
• ⅛ teaspoon cream of tartar
• ⅓ cup finely chopped pecans, plus more for sprinkling onto tops
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
