Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • 3/4 pound (340 grams) lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup rutabagas, parsnips, or turnips, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced (or substitute 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
