Spicy Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

• 1 small pumpkin, 2 1/2 lbs.
• 1/4 cup maple syrup
• 1/4 cup light brown sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
• 3 eggs, beaten
• 3/4 cup half-and-half
• 1 recipe Pie Dough for Pumpkin Pie (a 9-inch pre-baked pie shell)
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
