• 2 tbsp olive oil

• 1.1 pounds ground beef
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp sugar

• 1 tsp dried thyme
• 2 tsp dried oregano

• 2 bay leaves
• 2 cloves
• ½ cup red wine
• 5 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 can (14 oz/400 g) crushed tomatoes
