Ingredients

• Pie:
• 1 pie crust, 9-inch prebaked
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups milk, scalded
• 3 eggs
• 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 medium firm ripe bananas
• Optional Jubilee Sauce:
• 1 (16 ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries (I used frozen dark sweet cherries plus 1 cup water and boiled them with the sauce)
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 2 teaspoons rum extract or 2 teaspoons rum flavoring
