Ingredients

  • 190g sabut urad dhal (whole black dhal)
  • 65g chana dhal (split chickpea dhal)
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp deggi mirch (red chilli powder)
  • 3 piece of ginger chopped
  • 2 Indian bay leaves or bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp ghee or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 5 garlic cloves crushed
  • 3 red onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds coarsely ground
  • 3 piece of ginger finely grated
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 tsp deggi mirch (red chilli powder)
  • 100ml natural yogurt whisked (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional)
