Ingredients

• 120 g unsalted butter, softened
• 1.50 tbsp black treacle
• 170 g soft light brown sugar
• 0.50 tsp fine sea salt
• 1 medium egg
• 200 g plain flour
• 0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda
• 0.25 tsp ground cloves
• 1.50 tsp ground ginger
• 0.50 tsp ground cinnamon
• 60 g golden caster sugar
