Bavarian Chili, a Dutch oven recipe

Ingredients

• 1 lb. ground beef
• 1 lb. ground pork
• 1 cup chopped onions
• 1 cup chopped celery
• 1 cup chopped green pepper
• 1 small head green cabbage chopped (3-4 cups chopped)
• 2 tsp chopped garlic
• 1 can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
• 1 28oz can diced tomatoes
• 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
• 2 bay leafs
• 4 cups beef broth (add more if chili looks dry)
• ½ lb chopped smoked sausage (optional)
