- 2 heaping cupfuls flour. 1/2 teaspoonful salt. 1/4 teaspoonful cream of tartar. 1/2 as much soda as cream of tartar. 1 large tablespoonful lard. A little water or milk.
- For one pie take one heaping cupful of light bread dough, knead it and roll it out a quarter of an inch thick.
