• 2 lbs. beef stew meat cut into 1″ cubes
• 1 TBSP cooking oil
• 2 C quality beef stock or broth (preferably homemade)
• 1 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/8 tsp black pepper
• 1 bay leaf
• 1/4 C dried minced onion
• 1/2 tsp onion powder
• 1 1/4 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp dried parsley
• 1/4 C dry sherry
• 2 C carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
• 1 C large chopped onions
• 1/2 tsp dried thyme
