Apple strudel brings memories of my youth. This apple strudel recipe may not be my grandma's but it is easier to make and quite delicious.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 apples (medium, peeled, cored and grated)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 5 sheets phyllo pastry (frozen, thawed)
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup bread crumbs (fine dry )
- sifted powdered sugar
